Abstract

This study has been conducted to examine the degradation of morality and values in the social system and to prove whether this degradation is really happening. Noakhali district has been chosen for this study. It is a mixed study. People living in Noakhali district has been the source of information in this study. Data have been collected from 225 people through snowball sampling. Both Primary and secondary data have been used in the study. The present study has proved that moral values have already decayed and are increasingly on the rise in the social system of Bangladesh. Along with this, an overall picture of the deterioration of moral values of the present society has also aptly been captured. In order to stop this degradation, almost everyone agreed to consider religion as the main criterion of morality. They also recommended the members of the society to strongly adhere to their respective religious principles, and take joint venture in all levels of family, society and state to reduce this degradation.

সারসংক্ষেপ : সমাজ-ব্যবস্থায় নৈতিক মূল্যবোধের অবক্ষয়ের বর্তমান অবস্থা পরীক্ষা করা ও এই অবক্ষয় সত্যিই হচ্ছে কিনা তা প্রমাণ করার জন্য গবেষণাটি পরিচালিত হয়েছে। গবেষণাটির জন্য বাছাই করা হয়েছে নোয়াখালী জেলাকে। গবেষণাটির ধরন মিশ্র। তথ্যসংগ্রহের জন্য জরিপ গবেষণা পরিচালিত হয়েছে। নোয়াখালী জেলাতে বসবাসরত সকল জনগোষ্ঠীকে সমগ্র বা তথ্যবিশ্ব হিসাবে ধরা হয়েছে। তথ্য-পরিম-ল থেকে সুবিধাজনক ও ¯েœœাবল নমুনায়নের মাধ্যমে ২২৫ জন নমুনা হতে গবেষণার জন্য তথ্য সংগ্রহ করা হয়েছে। গবেষণাটিতে প্রাথমিক উপাত্ত ও গৌণ উপাত্ত ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে। গবেষণাটি প্রমাণ করতে সক্ষম হয়েছে যে বাংলাদেশের সমাজ-ব্যবস্থায় নৈতিক মূল্যবোধের অবক্ষয় হয়েছে, হচ্ছে। তা ছাড়া বর্তমান সমাজের নৈতিক মূল্যবোধের অবক্ষয়ের একটি সামগ্রিক চিত্রও পাওয়া গেছে। এমনকি এই অবক্ষয় বন্ধের জন্য প্রায় সকলে একমত হয়ে ধর্মকে নৈতিকতার প্রধান মানদ- ধরার, ধর্মকে পরিপূর্ণভাবে মানার এবং পারিবারিক, সামাজিক, রাষ্ট্রীয়ভাবে সম্মিলিত পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করার সুপারিশ প্রদান করেন।
